QA Manager

About the role

We’re looking for a QA Manager to help support our growing QA team, working across Love & Pies, as well as new games and tools.  This role will report directly to our CTO and will work with a team of highly collaborative testers, developers and other disciplines to build mobile, free-to-play casual games.

As a QA Manager you will be responsible for mentoring the QA team, helping to grow their skills and advance their careers.  You’ll work with the CTO and COO to make sure the QA team is in the best shape it can be.

Responsibilities

• Guide the QA team to be the best versions of themselves - you will directly line manage the internal test team, managing their goals and working with them as a mentor to advance their skills
• Help the team day to day - you will be there for the QA team every step of the way, coordinating the planning and execution of test plans and leading by example
• Closely collaborate with the developers, production and other functions - You will have an understanding of everything being built, and ensure we have adequate support and planning to cover it all
• Manage the external testing teams - providing clear guidance to them on our expectations, scaling them according to our upcoming workloads, and managing those relationships
• Create metrics on the quality of our games and how we’re doing across the testing team
• Find new ways of achieving higher quality via new tools, services, or ways of working
• Actively participate in our recruitment efforts for both internal and external testers

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience in testing mobile games
• Experience managing a team of QA testers
• Solid understanding of agile software development processes
• Good knowledge of iOS and Android ecosystems - experience in testing games for both platforms
• Experience across multiple testing techniques - functional, regression, performance
• A love for mobile casual games and a solid understanding of what goes into building a F2P game
• Ability to multitask and keep calm under pressure
• Excellent communication skills

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks
• Experience working with Playfab or other BaaS platforms
• Management experience for external test teams
• Other experience across other platforms, eg: PC, console, handheld

Location

Trailmix operates under a hybrid work model - we have 3 days a week (Monday, Thursday & Friday) in person at our brand new studio in Kings Cross with the remaining 2 days available to work from home.
