Game Lead

About the role

This is a rare opportunity to lead the team and vision of our marquee F2P mobile hit game, Love & Pies.

The ideal candidate will be a strong product leader, great communicator and the inspirational glue between the team members. Highly analytical, driven and capable of setting a clear and effective product and business strategy all while maintaining a sensitivity to the holistic player experience.

This role requires an enthusiastic and driven individual who understands what makes F2P games tick, has a long-term growth mindset and is willing to roll up their sleeves to ensure the vision is delivered.

Responsibilities

Business Ownership

• Holds P&L responsibility for the game, setting and achieving financial forecasts and goals in alignment with company expectations, while consulting with C-level executives and maintaining ultimate accountability for guiding the team to meet these objectives

Team Leadership

• Manages the project's leadership team in consultation with company functional leaders, providing guidance and direction to ensure all functional aspects of the game succeed, maintaining a clear vision and accountability as the game's guardian
• Is able to serve as both direct manager for the team leadership group (Lead +) as needed and provide mentorship and guidance

Strategy and Vision

• Responsible for defining and communicating the game project's strategy aligned with the company's vision, rallying the team around an intelligent, exciting plan, and developing strategic insights based on a deep understanding of the game, its genre, and the marketplace

Lifecycle Management

• Oversees understanding and communicating the operational, business, and player value of the game, swiftly reacting to changes with the help of the team, and continuously improving key metrics like Lifetime Value (LTV), Return on Ad Spend (ROAS), player sentiment, and quality as per various core functions

Execution and Accountability

• Responsible for overseeing all project executions and outcomes, mentoring discipline leads for exceptional function performance, communicating progress to the executive team, and driving strategic integration across functions
• Maintains an understanding of the industry dynamics and the game's position within it, ensuring team focus and strategic adaptability, while also contributing individually in operations, creative, or product areas as needed.
• Focuses on supporting senior members and team leaders in developing clear communication methods for all stakeholders, oversees the quality of external and upper management communications under the COO's guidance, and plays a key role in managing core business and project leadership, contributing to the company's overall portfolio strategy with a company-wide impact.

Requirements

• Director level + experience in Operational Product roles
• Proven track record of growing, and is an expert in, F2P game business. Bonus points for casual games experience
• Experience leading a live game team and dealing with a community of players
• Superb communication, people and leadership skills
• Willing to roll up your sleeves and work directly on the product where necessary
• Driven yet humble attitude. Entrepreneurial mindset

Our London Studio Location
