At Trailmix, our players are the very reason we exist and our mission is to create delightful spaces where millions of people can flourish. Our hit game Love & Pies, launched in September 2021, has resonated with millions worldwide and we build free-to-play mobile games that are snackable yet filled with heart, humour, and stories that stick.

We're a focused and highly collaborative team with a big creative spirit. We believe the best games are made when the people behind them feel inspired, supported, and proud of the work they do.

That's why our values sit at the heart of how we work, shaping every decision and creative choice we make.

Trailmix Values

  • We win as one: Success is shared, and collaboration fuels everything we do because great games are never built solo.
  • We are resilient by nature: We adapt and rise stronger each time because every challenge is a chance to evolve.
  • We are powered by our players: Every choice begins with them because when our players thrive, so do we.
  • We are kind and direct: We speak with honesty and care because clarity and compassion build the trust that makes us better.
  • We stay curious and grow: We ask, explore, and learn because curiosity keeps our creativity alive.
  • We decide boldly and own fully: We move with courage and conviction because great ideas only matter when we stand behind them.

Our values are what set Trailmix apart: they guide us in crafting games that are joyful, authentic, and player-first. We've created a workplace where both people and players feel seen, supported, and inspired. If you're excited by meaningful creativity, true collaboration, and making games that bring people joy, you'll feel right at home here, too.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Game Artist to join our New Game team in London. If you love building worlds that tell a story, and you care about how art improves the player experience, you'll fit right in.

We're making an original casual mobile game, and there's real room to shape it. You'll own the art for its expanding isometric map and world: the 2D environments and assets that carry the narrative, mark the player's progress and tell the story visually. You'll take that work from first concept to final implementation in Unity, reporting to our Art Director and working closely with artists, designers and developers.

We're a small team of artists with big ambition, in a Supercell-backed studio. Seniority here is about more than your own artwork. Success looks like a world players want to keep exploring, a way of making content that's quicker and clearer because of you, and a visual bar that's higher across the whole team.

The Day to Day

  • Own the map and world: design and build the expanding isometric map, using visual storytelling to support narrative, world-building and player progression.
  • Create beautiful 2D art: render environments, map content and game assets in Photoshop to a polished, production-ready finish.
  • Concept quickly: explore new content, features and visual ideas fast, and help define the game's visual direction.
  • Take your art into the game: prepare, implement and manage your work in Unity, from early concept to final asset.
  • Animate with economy: create animations and effects that land with impact while staying light on a phone.
  • Make gameplay clear: work with design and engineering so the art communicates progression, mechanics and features, and cut the detail that distracts.
  • Support UI and features: help with UI and player-facing feature art where the game needs it.
  • Scope and plan: plan your own work, be clear about what's achievable in the time, and help build a steady rhythm of new content for players.
  • Work with outsourcing partners: brief and review external art, giving clear feedback that keeps quality and style consistent.
  • Improve how we make art with AI: help shape our asset pipelines and production processes, and use AI tools in your workflow where they speed up production without costing quality or creative intent.
  • Learn from players: evolve the art as we test with our targeted demographics, primarily women aged 30-50, and learn what our players respond to.
  • Raise the bar together: start creative conversations when they'll make the game better, give and take feedback openly, share what you know and support the artists around you.

About You

You're a versatile artist with excellent rendering, strong creative instincts and the technical confidence to get your work into the game. You know great game art has to do more than look good: it guides the player.

  • Excellent 2D art, rendering and concepting skills, with a portfolio that shows both creative thinking and polished final work.
  • Expert Photoshop skills.
  • Experience creating art for casual mobile games.
  • Experience designing and producing isometric maps or environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of Unity, including preparing and implementing 2D assets in-engine.
  • Animating economically for mobile in Unity.
  • A strong eye for visual hierarchy: you know which details strengthen the player's experience and which get in the way.
  • Experience on a game with a regular flow of new player content, and the planning skills to scope and deliver it on time.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools in your art workflow, with good judgement about where they help and where they don't.
  • A track record of making the work around you better, such as improving a workflow, raising a visual standard or helping other artists grow.

Great to Have

  • Experience briefing and reviewing work from outsourcing partners.
  • Experience animating and rigging in Spine or a similar tool.
  • Experience designing player-facing UI feature art.

If you don't tick every box but this sounds like you, we'd still love to hear from you. Please apply with your portfolio.

At Trailmix, we care as much about how you work as what you deliver. We believe that when people feel safe, inspired, and proud of what they do, that passion flows directly into how we work with one another, our games, and ultimately, our players feel it.

That means we're looking for someone who:

  • Builds impact through collaboration: You know the best work comes from shared perspectives and collective wins.
  • Grows stronger through challenges: You adapt, stay positive, and help others find a way forward when things get messy.
  • Keeps players at the heart of decisions: You design, create, and problem-solve with empathy, knowing players are our why.
  • Communicates with clarity and care: You give feedback that builds trust, and you listen openly so ideas can flourish.
  • Stays curious and lifts others up: You experiment, learn quickly, and share your discoveries generously, raising the bar for the whole team.
  • Moves with courage and ownership: You make bold calls when it matters, and you stand by them with accountability.

Together, our values and the behaviours don't just describe how you'll succeed here - they're how we create authentic games that players love, built by people who flourish.
